The List v1.5

Nov 2019 04

We the 99% are in desperate need of a Revolution. Yet revolutions are bloody and violent events which often only serve to replace one form of tyranny with another. So how do we do it? How do we fight back against the 1% who no longer even permit peaceful protest without state violence? When they control the economy, governments and even the military? How do we take back control?

We go around them.

What if the 99% quietly changed their habits by following a few simple rules? How do you stop a revolution that doesn’t require a leader, undermines the systems of control by breaking no laws, and yet slowly transfers money and control back into the hands of the people?

The List

These easy steps will put power and resources back into your hands
while undermining the tools which the unelected few use to keep us stuck in a cycle
of debt, stress, unhappiness, and struggle.

Defend the internet!
Remember, awareness IS change! Nothing spreads awareness faster than the internet! We must keep it free, available, and unrestricted  by the government and corporate control. If free and open communication is acknowledged as a human right, then as the greatest conduit of communication known to man, it too should be considered a human right.  As they set up road blocks that prevent or filter your access, seek other ways around it. Mesh networking, line-of-sight and local intranets are just a few alternatives. Defend the internet at all costs!

Avoid or Block all advertising:
Advertising affects how you spend money, vote, eat and live by telling you from infancy what to want and where to get it. Advertising is the most powerful brainwashing tool in the arsenal for control. They force their ads upon you regardless of your right to your own opinion. It is a blight on our society and is mental noise pollution on an epic scale. Turn them off! Look away where possible, block ads on the internet and fund the content you choose through other means. Don’t let them manipulate you! Advertising is a tool for control. Nothing more. Reject it!

Avoid all Debt:
Pay off then discontinue credit card use. If that is not possible – declare bankruptcy, make a consumer proposal, or arrange a no interest loan from someone you know and then pay them what is agreed. The Banks do not serve you. Financial institutions only thrive when you are in debt to them. Remember, credit is another word for debt. Once you owe them, they own you! If you cannot pay for it, don’t charge it, save for it! Be clear about the difference between what you want vs what you really need! The less debt you owe, the more money you will have in your pocket! Do not be seduced by advertising! Do not believe the lie that some debt is good for you! Want to significantly change the way the world works, get rid of your debt!

Seek alternative news sources:
News is important. You cannot make good decisions based on bad information. A handful of corporations own nearly all major news outlets! This means they control your news. Thankfully, there are many credible and objective news sources still available on the internet, TV and in print media. Avoid confirmation bias ~ remember, just because they are telling you what you want to hear does not mean they are not misleading you. You must be vigilant. Try to remain objective. Logical. Try to see the world from the other point of view, even if it angers you. Remember, we are easiest to control when we are fighting each other! Seek the truth ~ it is the only thing that will protect you from propaganda. Talk about what you read with friends and family.

Use cash, bitcoin, or barter in your daily shopping:
The more we use untraceable currency, the harder it will be to eliminate it. Why is this important? This matters because where, when, and how you spend your money tells corporations and governments how to manipulate you for either profit, or control.  It is much more difficult to track your habits when you use cash, bitcoin(anonymous digital money), or barter. It is also impossible to prevent you from buying what you need. With the push of a button a bank can prevent you from accessing your bank card. Save money by eliminating the service fees banks charge for using debit or credit. Bitcoin is available online for anyone to buy. Apart from convenience, it prevents your purchases from giving the corporate state the information needed to keep you on the consumer debt treadmill.

Credit unions over banks:
Banks serve themselves, credit unions serve you! While we are forced to engage the financial system as it stands, Credit unions and Cooperatives are a better choice. Firstly, they tend to pay more interest and charge less in fees. Secondly, you get a vote in how they function and receive a dividend or fee reduction when they return a profit. More control over your money, more money in your pocket.

DO NOT join the military!
With very few exceptions, the wars of the past 100 years have earned sickening amounts of money for the elites, while millions of civilians and military died. Still, it is important to recognize that war is an everpresent threat against any peaceful nation. What is the answer? Nothing can stop you from training in self defence and strategic techniques. Join local cadets, militias and national guard services to ensure you receive the training required to protect your family and neighbors, or to fight in a war that specifically defends your nation. You serve your country best when you do not fight manufactured wars for profit. There is pride and honour in defending those you love as well as the democracy you believe in. There is no honour in blindly spilling your guts in wars for profit and colonial control.

Buy local food, start or shop at cooperatives:
Transporting food half way around the world when there are farmers around the corner is inefficient and terrible for the environment. Buying in-season and local food is good for the environment and good for you. Co-ops can provide a viable alternative to wasteful conglomerates. If you can’t find a local consumer owned and run co-op then talk to friends and neighbors and organize one. Why a co-op? Because you get a say in how they are run, prices are better, and they help your community.

Plant vegetable gardens, not lawns:
Look, you have to water, mow, weed and seed your lawn every year anyway. We don’t need lawns, we need good healthy food. Remember, that is money in your pocket! If you have more food than you can use. Bring it to the community co-op to be sold, barter it for goods and services, or give it away to those who can use it. If you live in an urban area, there are often community gardens accessible to anyone. Our system may not always be able to provide for our needs. Remember, you can’t eat a lawn.

Supplement utilities with renewable energy:
The less you pay for utilities, the more you have in your pocket. A couple of car batteries, some solar cells and LED lights can supplement grid power and save both money and the environment. In areas where water is at a premium, rain barrel water collection or a cistern and a filter can augment and supply many household cleaning/watering needs. Use what is free around you to keep money in your pocket. This will help to free you from debt.

Downsize your home:
to reduce taxes, debt, and save energy. The smaller the home, the easier it is to heat, clean, and pay off without a mortgage. Look into tiny homes, compressed earth brick(CEB)/Cob/adobe/straw-bale and many many low cost and environmentally sound  alternative construction methods. Do not buy into life long debt! If you care what your neighbors think above your own welbeing then your priorities are not in order. It may also surprise you to know that it is possible in most places to buy a home directly from the owner without going through the bank! Sign a legal document that allow you to pay them instead of the bank at low or even no interest!

Spend the change you want to see in the world.
Remember, businesses will follow YOUR wallet. Make a short list of products you buy every day or every week. Find out which companies produce goods and services based on ethics, durability and their commitment to community investment and reward them with your business. If they build cars that last and pay fair wages, buy their cars. If they don’t use child or underpaid labour spend your money with them. In no time the unethical companies will figure out why they are losing your business and will fall in line. In the end, you will get better goods and services for your money while improving your community and ensuring fair wages for all.

Reuse, repurpose, restore and recycle.
The internet offers an incredible diversity of techniques for giving used or discarded items a second life! Become more adept at finding, selling or purchasing used items. This secondary economy can be fueled by the 365 rule. “If you haven’t used something for a year, sell it or trade it for something you do need”. We must force companies to build things that last. Planned obsolescence is utter madness!

Go electric, use public transit, walk or cycle:
Petroleum industries have polluted nearly every corner of the world. Wars are fought over oil while the environmental damage is reaching critical mass. Where possible, use mass transit. It’s cheap and there is no issue finding parking. Then where needed, petition your local and municipal governments to increase the frequency and availability of mass transit. Less pollution, fewer hassles. Billions poured into mass transit will save trillions in highway and city roads infrastructure while reducing the power of the banks and insurance companies. Create greater room for EV scooters and bikes and breathe cleaner air. Win win. Personal vehicles are more costly than we realize considering that statistically the average car sits unused more than 95% of the time. Alternatives are readily available in most cities around the globe.

Reduce your Meat, Dairy and Sugar consumption:
The earth’s population is growing fast, and so is meat and dairy consumption. Even in traditionally vegetarian cultures. Livestock are incredibly costly to produce. Besides the vast amounts of precious water and land to produce little food when compared to plants, the billions of cows are generating massive greenhouse emissions, require deforestation on a devastating scale, and use up arable land that could easily produce millions of tons of food for humans. Overcrowded and unwell livestock result in the transfer of diseases, hormones and antibiotic resistance to humans. When combined with the massive increase in sugar consumption our food is not only affecting our health, but the health of the planet.

Ween off big box stores:
They hinder the local economy and send your money elsewhere. Large franchises are notorious for underpaying and overworking their employees while giving little if anything back to the local community. Some products are the same relative cost wherever you go. Break your grocery and general purchases into independents vs. Box store categories. The less we pay into the corporate giants, the less power they have to bias publicly minded policy away from the protection and benefit of the average consumer.

Use encrypted email, browser and phone communication:
Our privacy is our liberty! The Corporatocracy grows in strength when we feed it our data. We are entitled to our privacy. The corrupt and powerful of this world are constantly looking for ways to keep us under their control – good little consumers. As a result, they are increasingly focused on what we think. They are interested in keeping things the way they are, we are interested in changing the status quo. Remember, having nothing to hide does not prevent them from using what they know about you to manipulate you.
Remember the Whistleblowers – imprisoned, tortured and destroyed for revealing the extent of their corruption!

Devote 1 hour per week to a good cause!
Globally that would be several billion hours spent every week making the world a better place. We can all afford 1 hour a week. Happiness is contagious. Spread non-material wealth. It’s free and the return on your investment is a better life for all. The media broadcasts bad news, so we must create and broadcast good news!

Reduce the length of your work week:
Don’t like unions? Fine. Then petition your government to enforce employee rights. Organize your fellow employees to ensure your rights are observed and upheld. Force employers to close on weekends or shorten the work week. Ask yourself this, has working constantly brought you closer to your family and given you more leisure time? No? That’s because it’s a myth. If you have followed the other rules on this list then you will have more money than ever, so now what you need is more personal time. Our kids, relatives and elderly need us! Our society is sick with loneliness and isolation.

Be Brave. Work Together.
Even though these steps require no bravery to put into action, they do require us to work together. If only 10% of the population commits to these steps, it will completely undermine those who have been controlling and exploiting us for hundreds of years. But we must stick together. We must be Brave. Our children deserve a shot at a future worth living in. This is our opportunity to create a better one in our lifetime!

THE LAW OF ABUNDANCE:
Abundance grows exponentially when resources are distributed equally among the population.

These simple steps will allow ordinary citizens to take back control of their lives. None of them will cost you money. Nearly all will keep money in your pocket and distance you from government and corporate control. As this document undermines the power of the Corpo-political and Military system they will try to eliminate it.
